Custom Software

We help our customers create software that meets their business needs. We bring the world-class technical expertise and our extensive code library. Our customers bring the business knowledge and the bright idea that needs software. We partner with customers in three primary ways (although we're open to creative relationships as well):

Offsite Development
Our high-performance team will build your software at our Extreme Programming Software Studio™. We have set up a highly collaborative environment that helps us deliver results quickly.

Onsite Development
Our high-performance team can build your software at your place of business. We can help you set up a "studio environment" at your location, and then our team can work there to deliver your software.

Co-Development with Mentoring
If you want to improve the effectiveness of your software development teams, we can help. We'll develop your software with your own developers, training them in the leading agile method (XP) while we produce your system together. Our code library will jumpstart the process and accelerate the learning.

What kind of software do we write?

The short answer is "the software you want". Our team members have researched and/or developed applications for:

• Small spaces. We have built software to run on a variety of cell phones and PDAs as well as proof-of-concept prototypes for custom devices for us in near patient health care (personal devices to be placed in homes of patients with chronic diseases). We developed software to run in an embedded linux box for banking applications. We've prototyped applicatons on real-time operating systems targeted to run in automobiles. We've explored a bunch of other small spaces and have partners that specialize in creating custom devices if needed.
• Desktop Applications. Our team has built a lot of these over the years. Three of the more significant ones recently have been the A.C.E. Misfire Detective for Thompson Automotive Labs, a highly customizable Data Management system for BioMerieux and a Configuration Management system for CipherOptics. We've done a variety of others, many of which were hooked to servers and other information systems.
• Web-Based Applications. From simple web applications like appointment management for a small business, to decision-making support for a large enterprises, large commercial subscription applications like myBibleStudy.com for LifeWay Christian Resources, and everything in between.
• Communications. Most applications have to have some sort of communication going on between at least two computers if not more. We've written software that communicates over serial ports with all sorts of protocols as well as most of the main industry standard network and distributed computing protocols.

Maybe the short answer is really the best one. You bring the idea, and we'll figure out which technologies and architectures will be best for the job. We've yet to be presented with a software problem that scared us off and it's rare that we are faced with a technical problem with which we have no experience.
